 ICAR-NIAP has released a new Policy Brief on “Leveraging Potential of Dung for Energy Security and Sustainable Agriculture”

This paper examines how efficient utilization of livestock dung can boost India’s energy security, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance soil health through organic fertilizers.
It calls for stronger support for community biogas plants, commercialization of dung-to-energy initiatives, and coordinated policy action across central and state governments. Greater investment and smart incentives can help realize the full potential of this untapped resource for a greener, more self-reliant future.
